Achieve the Cyber Essentials certification with IT AND GENERAL. We’ll arrange your official assessment account with IASME and manage the setup process for you. If you’d like more hands-on help, you can add support from our cybersecurity consultants to assist with gathering the required information, understanding the assessment requirements and working through the questionnaire.

Cyber Essentials is the UK government-backed certification scheme designed to help organisations protect themselves against the most common cyber attacks.

When you purchase your Cyber Essentials assessment through IT AND GENERAL, we take care of arranging your official self-assessment account and getting the certification process started for you.

We work directly with a licensed Cyber Essentials Certification Body, so you do not need to source a provider or manage the initial registration process yourself.

Once your assessment is active, you can complete the questionnaire independently or add hands-on support from our cybersecurity consultants if you would like help gathering the information required and working through the assessment.

Good to know

The registration package price is based on your organisation's size, in line with IASME's own tiered assessment structure.
Certification is granted by IASME once your self-assessment is reviewed and approved; we do not issue or guarantee certification ourselves.

Cyber Essentials Self-assessment Only

We arrange the registration and setup of your official Cyber Essentials self-assessment account, so you can begin the certification process without having to manage the initial registration yourself.

This option includes:

Registration of your Cyber Essentials self-assessment.
Setup of your official assessment account.
Coordination with our Certification Body partner to activate your assessment.
Access to the official Cyber Essentials self-assessment questionnaire.
Assessment and marking by an authorised Cyber Essentials assessor.

Once your assessment is active, you can work through the questionnaire independently and submit it when ready.

Cyber Essentials Self-assessment + Support Hours

Add dedicated consultancy time to your Cyber Essentials Self-Assessment and get hands-on support from one of our cybersecurity consultants.

Support hours can be used flexibly throughout the assessment process, depending on the level of assistance your organisation needs.

We can help you:

understand the assessment questions in clear, plain English;
explain technical terminology and what each question is actually assessing;
identify the systems, devices, users, networks and cloud services that are relevant to your assessment;
carry out preliminary information gathering and help build an overview of your current IT environment;
identify what information needs to be collected and where it can typically be found;
work through individual questions where the correct response is unclear;
review your current technical controls against the Cyber Essentials requirements;
highlight gaps or configuration issues that may need further investigation;
prepare and complete questionnaire responses with you; and
where sufficient support time has been purchased, work on the assessment on your behalf using authorised helper access.

Choose the Right Level of Support

2 Hours - Guidance & Question Support
Ideal if you need help understanding the assessment, preparing the information required, or working through a few specific questions. We can explain technical requirements in plain English, help identify the relevant information within your environment, carry out initial information gathering, and support you directly with individual assessment questions where needed.

5 Hours - Hands-On Assessment Support
Suitable for organisations that want us to take a much more active role in the assessment. Alongside information gathering and guidance, we can work through the questionnaire with you and, where appropriate, use helper access to prepare responses on your behalf.

10 Hours - Extended Assessment Support

Provides a dedicated block of consultancy time that can be used across the full Cyber Essentials assessment process, from initial account activation and information gathering through to questionnaire completion, submission, technical review, and assessor follow-up.

Need more time? Additional hours can be purchased at any stage if you require more time during the assessment process, regardless of the support package initially selected.

A Direct Route to the Assessor

One of the key advantages of purchasing your Cyber Essentials assessment through IT AND GENERAL is our direct working relationship with the Certification Body responsible for reviewing your submission.

Rather than simply registering your assessment and leaving you to manage the rest of the process alone, we maintain a direct communication channel with the provider throughout the assessment journey.

If your assessor requests clarification, additional information or adjustments to your submission, we can help you understand what is required and communicate directly with the Certification Body where appropriate.

This can make the process considerably smoother, particularly where technical answers need further explanation or where the assessor needs additional detail before completing their review.
